Dissapearing toothache

toothache

The toothache is an alarm for each person that it is high time to visit a specialist. Oftenly we tend to avoid the dentist, hoping that the ache is momentary and the medicine will do the job. Indeed, such situations happens when the occurring pain can disappear momentarily, but such situation should not satisfy anyone. Such disappearance can indicate the progress of chronic inflammation, crack of the pulp cavity where the process of decay is occurring or even the death of the pulp. There is a common assumption that living tooth respond to stimulant, whereas in case of a dead tooth, such situation does not happen.

In reality the tooth tissue respond to stimulant. The pain is a feedback of periapical tissues. Moreover, the pain can be exposed by apical periodontitis, pulp or dentine. In general, the sensitivity of the pulp and apical periodontitis is connected with inflammation, but in case of dentin, it can mean the crack of vents of dentinal tubules. Dentinal pain can be characterised as intense, short which is a reaction to sweet or cold food. If the inflammation escalates in the pulp, the pain is particularly intense due to intense innervations. It can be described as: prolonged, keeping us awake while night. The harshness of hypersensitivity appear while changing the sleeping position. As a result of the reactions in the pulp, the pressurizing occur and the output of inflammation irritate nerve endings placed in the tissue.

The pain may disappear when the treatment is not applied what leads to the crack of the pulp cavity. This results in reduction of the inside pressure and when intense inflammation escalate into chronic form (or when the pulp is infected) the result is necrosis. The recession of pain in this case means the escalation of the disease. Hypersensitivity is decreased by chronic process that continuously deteriorate the tissue. No pain in this situation does not mean that the problem is solved. Moreover, it is good to keep in mind that systematic dentist check-ups and monitoring the problem is essential. The delay in check-up is always linked with potential complications and less chances of rehabilitation. One has to remember that if the inflammation escalates to adjacent tissue, the type of pain also changes as well as severity and span.
